Air 378

Air 378 is our unique truck.  This has so many pieces of equipment and parts that there is no way to list them all.  The truck is never the first or second truck out the door, but will show up on virtually every scene.

                    Driver Side

Our rescue ropes, air gun, and other rescue equipment are located on the top of compartment one.  The bottom part of the compartment contains our "rehab" components.  Water bottles, bulk water, coffee pot, small table, and sports drink.

Compartment two is the main reason the truck is used.  it contains five 4500 compressed air tanks.  This is called a cascade system.

Compartment three contains rescue items.

Compartment four contains many filled spare air bottles.  This allows for quick switch outs of breathing air in lieu of waiting on the bottles to be filled. It also contains spare air packs if needed.

Compartment five contains all of our HAZ-MAT items.  The tubs includes different types and sizes of "pigs and blankets".  A "pig" is a cylindrical sock that is made to stop the flow of floating hazardous materials.  They can be strung together and stretched across the stream or pond.  A "blanket" is either a rolled material or pads that soak up material either on land or on water.

As you can also see in the picture the truck contains a large awning that can provide shade to firefighters in the summer months, and can be a small enclosed room that can be heated in the winter months.

                                              Passenger Side

Compartment one contains our electrical systems.  Portable light plants, cords and small gas powered generator lights.

Compartment two contains large cribbing and spare foam.

Compartment three contains large amounts of floor dry for material spills.  The top of the compartment holds salvage tarps and construction equipment.

Compartment four holds a huge assortment of hand tools.  The tools range from shovels to hammers to chain saws.

Compartment five holds a spare set of extrication tools, such as the "Jaws of Life".  It also holds small portable propane heaters.
