Chief Marvin McIntire
In December of 1979 Marvin joined the Scioto Township Fire Department as a firefighter under his father and then Chief Martin "Woody" McIntire. In 1985 Marvin was appointed to the rank of Lieutenant. He continued in that roll until 1987 where he was appointed the rank of Captain. In 1990, Scioto Township levied it's first fire apparatus and Marvin was appointed the rank of Assistant Fire Chief. He continued on this the capacity until 2005 where he was appointed Fire Chief.
Chief McIntire worked on several projects throughout the years. He was the Prevailing Wage Coordinator for the new Township Fire Station and Community Center. He is a member of the Delaware County Fire Chief's Association. His focus continues to provide the best for his firefighters, the residents of Scioto Township, and Village of Ostrander. Fire Prevention is the key to making a safe environment for our residents to live. He recently hired the Township's first part-time Fire Inspector to help with these issues.
Chief McIntire holds a Basic Emergency Medical Technician card and is trained to Firefighter Level I. He is one step from acquiring his full-time fire status. Chief McIntire brings over 25 years of experience for the residents. We have a great station, good tool resources and our firefighters are very well outfitted. He is currently working on replacement programs for our aging fleet of fire apparatus. The goal is to have an apparatus replaced every 5 years. With his continued efforts, he will see that goal is accomplished and that our residents have on of the safest places to call home in Delaware County.
