Annual Ostrander July 4th Fundraiser Golf Outing:
The annual golf outing date has been set: May 10, 2008 Now that everyone has the date on their calendar, please plan on attending! The outing has become a terrific success. The Mill Creek Golf Club has reserved us a date and this year we will have a shotgun start at 1:00PM. There will be several teams again this year from various fire departments, police departments and EMS personnel. Last year we had over 110 golfers, this year we're shooting for a full course of 36-four man teams for a total of 144.
If you want to be a hole sponsor, donate door prizes, help at the course, or participate please contact Brian Dilley. Any help will be appreciated.
Genoa Township Fire/MDA Fund Raiser- 5k Run supports the Muscular Dystrophy Association May 2nd.

**Annual Scioto Township Fire Association Fish Fry - YEAR 54 !**
The annual Scioto Township Fire Association Fish Fry will be held on November 3rd from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The dinner will be held here at the fire station in the community center. For those of you who aren't so fond of perch, we hope you enjoy the ham. There is a raffle at the end of the evening so if you cannot attend and want to purchase raffle tickets contact us. We'd hate for you to miss out on the Grand Prize Hog Roast, donated by Don Parrott of Parrott Implement, Richwood, Ohio !!
** Buckeye Lake Fire Fighter Waterball Tournament 2007**
Members of STFD "brought back the ax" this year. After winning in 2005, we placed second in 2006. There were four members on the team this year, Craig Dilley, Sig Pugerud, Brandon Dilley,and Casey Swendrick. The tournament included three dimensions, the "bucket brigade", an obstacle course, and the waterball event. Check out some pictures of the even in our photo gallery.
Halloween Celebration - Scioto Fire Open House
The annual Halloween celebration is Wednesday, October 31. The festivities will begin at 5:15 PM here at the fire house with a costume contest followed by Trick or Treat in the Village from 6:00PM-8:00 PM.
The Scioto Township Fire Department will hold it's annual open house this evening also. There are several planned displays including a Christmas Tree Safety Demonstration (how to keep your tree safe via watering, AND what happens when you don't !!), the Delaware County Health District, and many other surprises.
The Halloween- Open House was a terrific success. We want to thank everyone who attended. The Delaware County Health Dept. gave out numerous bike helmets to the kids, Fire Fighter Craig Dilley put on a Christmas Tree SafetyDemonstration (Check out the video here.), the Delaware County Sheriff's Department and EMS was on hand, as well as many other volunteers and helpers.
**Village of Ostrander - Storm Sewer Smoke Testing** The Village of Ostrander will be testing the storm sewer system, via smoke testing, on Saturday, September 7, 2007 beginning at 7:00 am and going to approximately noon. Any questions please contact your village representatives.
**Annual Fire Hydrant Testing Days** The Scioto Township Fire Department will be testing and flushing fire hydrants Aug 9 -10, 2007. The testing will be performed during the daytime to lessen the potential impacts on our residents. While the residents should not experience any significant pressure loss, please contact the Fire Department with any questions or concerns.
Fallen FireFighter Memorial Members of the Scioto Township Fire Department attended the memorial services for FireFighter John Trainer of the Mechanicsburg Fire Department. FireFighter Trainer was lost while performing his duties following a tragic house fire. The Memorial Service included over 400 fire fighters, over 100 fire apparatus, the Ohio Fire Chiefs Association members, and Honor and Color Guards from multiple Ohio counties. The services also included a fly over from CareFlight Medical Services, as well as the tradition of a bag pipe and drum corps.
Annual Ostrander July 4th Fundraiser Golf Outing:
The golf outing was a great success ! We had the largest outing yet with 110 golfers. The outing raised around $3,000 that will go directly toward the purchase of the fireworks for the show. Next year if you would like to be a part of the celebration contact: brian.dilley@stfd370.com.
